1. Test the complete workflow
A feature list can say “fees” while hiding whether the product handles structures, instalments, collection, receipts, balances and reversal. Ask for one end-to-end demonstration and inspect the resulting records.
Use a repeatable buyer checklist to compare school ERP software on real workflows, data ownership, implementation risk, pricing and limitations—not adjectives in a sales deck.

Choose a school ERP by testing the work your institution performs every day. The strongest evaluation uses the same sample student, fee structure, attendance day and examination pattern in every vendor demo. It also checks what happens when data is wrong, a user lacks permission, the school leaves, or an advertised integration is unavailable.

The school should be able to export its records in usable formats without paying an exit fee or waiting for a vendor ticket. Ask exactly which collections and attachments are included, and how long data remains after termination.
Every capability should be labelled as live, configured, third-party, manual or planned. Elevate publishes limitations on its solution and module pages because an honest negative is more useful than a broad “complete ERP” claim.
Include implementation, migration, training, payment-gateway fees, messaging charges, storage, additional users, custom reports and renewal increases. Elevate publishes plan limits and prices so the starting comparison does not require a sales call.
There is no single best school ERP for every institution. The right choice is the product that supports your real workflows, imports your existing records safely, exposes total pricing, lets you export your data and clearly states its limitations. A school should test those points with its own fee structure, timetable and report-card format before buying.
Check the live module depth, data migration process, role permissions, audit history, backup and export options, implementation responsibility, support channel, total annual cost and every integration claimed in the proposal. Ask the vendor to demonstrate the exact workflow against sample data shaped like your institution.
Elevate ERP may be a strong fit for institutions that want transparent flat pricing, a free starting tier, one shared record across daily operations and an AI agent with permission checks. It is not the right fit for a school that requires a native parent app, offline office operation or direct board and government-portal integrations today.
Use the same written test script for both vendors. Ask each to admit a student, post a fee, mark attendance, create an examination, export the underlying records and show the audit history. Record whether each step is live, configurable, an integration, a roadmap promise or a manual service.
Start on the free plan for up to 250 students. Paid plans begin at ₹1499 per month, billed to the institution.
